So with last months topic being the Golden Globes hair how could we start this month without talking about Oscar hair this month???
Favorite How-To Hairstyles Oscars 2011
Best Actress 2011. This is how to get her glamorous bohemian style, that really is a romantic and feminine look! Apply an anti-frizz product and volumizer before blow-drying the hair smooth with a round brush. Curl hair using a 1” curling iron to create soft and feminine waves. Next, create a foundation for the style by backcombing the bottom layers. Sweep the hair to the left side of her face, securing with bobby pins. For a finishing touch, secure the look with a sheer hairspray.
To create volume and shine, blow hair out and add a drop of leave-in smoothing cream such as Gleam by Rusk. Then, set hair in hot rollers. Once the rollers are cool, take them out, and spray with flexible hold hair spray on a flat brush, and then brush hair out. Simple as that.
Reese Witherspoon's mod '60s high ponytail started by applying a lifting and texurizing spray gel and a smoothing finish serum. After blow-drying the hair with a round brush, divide the hair in two sections, using a one and one-half inch curling iron on the bottom layer. Tease the top section for volume, and place it in a ponytail. Secured with hair spray.
Actually,it's more of a low-do with a gorgeous medium rich brown base color, then painted on highlights in various shades of honey and dark golden blonde to create a warmer tone.
To get the look...
Part your hair down the center and apply a volumizer,, to your hair from roots to ends.
Blow-dry the hair using a round brush.
Pull your hair into a low ponytail at the nape of your neck, making sure to cover your ears. "The key is keeping it loose for a touch of bohemian flair. It's almost like a draping around the face, with wispy pieces of hair coming out softly,"
Twist the ponytail into a loose knot. The twist should be so loose that is doesn’t appear to be twisted —one that's a little wide, almost triangular. Tuck your hair elastic underneath hair and pin to hide it.
