2016 is a great year for hair!

A lot of beautiful hairstyles that are easy to replicate. That's important! For me there are three important factors That I want people leaving my studio with in order to have great hair:

One is that a good cut is easy to replicate at home. For me the most important thing is not how you leave my salon. (That's the easy part.) For me what's more important is how you look every day. I want my clients to say to themselves 'ok! well that worked'

Two is a great colour. For me great colour is colour that shines, brings life to your face and is so vibrant that it makes your hair look even healthier!

Three I like teach my clients how to take care of their hair the best way they can. From how to shampoo and condition to combing and towel drying to the best way to style you hair in the simplest damage free way.

Here are some examples of what I've been doing a in my studio....

The Model Midi

A medium-length cut that rides the line of short and long hair, more airy than the lob and not as blunt as the bob.

You want a cut that hits at the collarbone with long layers and texturized ends without feathering, because then it can start to look like a shag.

Tip:
Whether you wear this cut curly or straight, keep a little bend in the ends to accentuate the details and soften the style.

As for the colour babylights! Probably what I do most.Highlights that look soft and blend naturally.

Curly, Piecey Bob

Going super blonde has really made a comeback. Lately my clients want more and more super light highlights. It's better than bleaching your whole head blonde and the grow out is less severe. And it look hot!

Not all curls are created equally. What's in now for curls this season is allowing them to pop up and be free! In other words release the weight and don't bee afraid of layers.

Tip:
To create a piecey look, define the curls that frame your face. To help encourage definition, use a strong hold styler like and encourage definition by scrunching very tightly from tips towards the root in an upward motion.

Full Fringe
Bangs are back Bangs inspired by the 1970s like Dakota Johnson.
Add softer fringe for a classic, glamorous look or opt for a blunt bang for an edgier finish. What looks great with fringe is shorter, more textured layers around your face. This style works well with most hair types, especially those with medium to thick or curly hair. When your bangs go around the eyebrows it will look soft. By going blunter and above the brows you create and stronger edgier look.

Tip:
Let the hair (including your bangs) air-dry to bring out your natural texture. Then, using a 1 1/2 inch curling iron, wrap the hair in vertical sections varying the direction of the curl, especially around the hairline to keep the style looking fresh and modern.

Choppy Layers
Reds are still in! And since the red pigmen tends to fade easily than other hair colours don't be afraid to go a little more vibrant as it will be sure to fade a level or two.

Visible layers. First, figure out how high you want the first layer to be. The most universally flattering layers begin right below the jawline. But these are not the layers of the '90s "Rachel" cut, as these are choppier and less unified.

Tip:
Rub a small amount of wax between your fingers and work it through the ends of your hair while twisting slightly to accentuate the layers. This lifts the ends to enhance the appearance. If you want a fuller look, add more wax and scrunch the ends upward.
